Brother Dash is one of the most popular and well known Muslim poets in the world. Born in Brooklyn, NY and currently residing in New Jersey, Brother Dash has performed on both sides of the Atlantic and throughout the United States. Since May of 2005 Brother Dash has the distinction of having performed in front of more people than probably any other Muslim poet in America. During this period Brother Dash has performed for over 85,000 people live,has been heard by almost 4 million radio listeners, and his performances and interviews have been broadcast in over 2 million households on television globally.
Seven 8 Six's debut album was originally release in two versions, the first version being a limited release, and a remixed version of the same album being internationally released. Seven 8 Six debuted their newest video on December 15, at www.seven8six.net in commemoration of the Hajj season. The video, aptly entitled 'Mecca' is one of their best yet, so be sure to view the video and visit their new website to send them feedback.
Seven 8 Six flew to London, England, this past weekend (November 25, 2006), to perform in front of 20,000 Muslims gathered from all over the United Kingdom. Performing crowd favorited, such as 'Palestine', 'Dosti', and 'Falling Away', Seven 8 Six were backed by their new drummer, Wes Porter from Ohio in the United States. At one point, Seven 8 Six joined Najam Sheraz on stage, for what is sure to be one for the history books, as generations come together on stage in one artform. Lastly, Seven 8 Six joined Zain Bhikha, Ahmed Bukhatir, and others on stage for the finale. Didn't get a chance to see the program, no worries, watch the finale below. Seven 8 Six was not the only Meem artist to perform at this past weekend's Global Peace and Unity event. London's very own, Khaleel Muhammad, graced the stage of the Global Peace and Unity and performed his hit song 'Follow Muhammad (SAW)'. Seeing Khaleel Muhammad live in concert is always a pleasure, and this event was not exception. Couldn't make it to the event, no problem, watch his performance below.
Meem Music artists, SHAAM and Seven 8 Six, are set to perform at Eidfest 2006, being held this year in New Jersey, USA. Taking place on November, 3, 2006, this show is sure to be one you won't want to miss. Joining SHAAM and Seven 8 Six for this show are, Native Deen, Dawud Wharnsby, Brother Dash, and comedian Mohammed Amer. In addition, to being an Eid celebration, fundraising will take place on the evening for local Islamic Schools.
